Zelenskyy listens to Syrskyi’s report on situation at front and in areas of Kursk operation. VIDEO

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has listened to a report from Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the frontline, particularly in the Kursk region.

The head of state said this in a video message, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, there was a report by Chief Commander Syrskyi on the situation at the front and in the areas of the Kursk operation. Every day - both on 31 December and 1 January - there are constant Russian assaults in the Donetsk region. Most of the attacks per day were in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, and the most severe in the Lyman and Vremivka directions. We had also discussed the defence of Kherson region. In the Kursk region, our units continue to defend their positions - more than 30 Russian attacks per day. I am grateful to all our units who are striking at the Russian army and destroying the occupier," he said.

Zelenskyy praised the 24th and 100th separate mechanised brigades, which repelled one of the most brutal Russian assaults on New Year's Eve, as well as the 59th separate motorised infantry and 68th separate hunting brigades defending Pokrovsk, and the 79th airborne brigade.
