French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met. The central topic of their conversation was the situation in Ukraine.
The video was posted on social network X by the British Prime Minister, Censor.NET reports.
The meeting took place at Chequers House, which has been used as a country residence of British prime ministers for over 100 years.
According to Macron, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine, discussed the situation in the Middle East, relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union, and prepared for the upcoming Franco-British summit.
The Elysee Palace added that the situation in Ukraine was "at the center of the conversation".
"Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to coordinate closely to support Ukraine for as long as necessary. They stressed the importance of continuing to provide the weapons needed to defend Ukraine's territories and guaranteeing continued financial support for Ukraine beyond 2025. They also underlined the importance of providing Ukraine with security guarantees to protect it from further aggression," the statement said.
