Russia has deployed North Korean soldiers to Kursk region again - Zelenskyy. VIDEO

Russia has again engaged North Korean soldiers in combat operations in the Kursk region.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening video address, Censor.NET reports.

Zelenskyy said that on Friday, 7 February, there was a report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation in Donetsk and Kursk regions.

"There were new assaults in the Kursk operation areas - the Russian army and North Korean soldiers were deployed again. A significant number of occupiers have been killed, we are talking about hundreds of Russian and North Korean soldiers," the Head of State said.

The President emphasised the importance of fighting on Russian territory, as it eases the enemy's pressure on our cities.

"It is very important to fight on Russian territory in order to prevent the tension against our cities and our land from increasing; and we have 60,000 Russian army troops in Kursk region on our territory, on the frontline, which is 60,000 that did not add to the already significant occupier's forces in Pokrovsk and other areas of our Donetsk region. I am grateful to all our soldiers for their resilience, to each brigade for the result," Zelenskyy said.

Earlier, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that about 8,000 DPRK mercenaries continue to fight in Kursk region.
