Budanov denies that DPRK troops have withdrawn from front in Kursk region: about 8,000 are still fighting

The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that about 8,000 DPRK mercenaries continue to fight in the Kursk region.
He said this in a comment to the military publication The War Zone, Censor.NET reports.
According to the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, about 8,000 North Koreans are still fighting on the front line in the Kursk region, although their activity has decreased in recent days due to significant losses.
Budanov said that media reports that DPRK troops have not been spotted on the front line for weeks are "false."
"We need to wait some time to see if there are real changes or if it is just a decrease in activity for a few days," he said.
Russia withdraws DPRK military from positions in Kursk region
Earlier, The New York Times reported that North Korean mercenaries who fought on the side of the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region were withdrawn from the front line after suffering heavy losses.
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the presence of North Korean mercenaries in the Kursk region has not been recorded for about 3 weeks.
South Korean intelligence said that DPRK troops have not been involved in combat in the Kursk region for several weeks.
