On the night of 15 February, Russian territory was attacked by a drone. The Russian Ministry of Defence reported the downing of allegedly 40 Ukrainian UAVs over four regions.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Russian media.
In particular, Russian air defense forces shot down 17 UAVs over the territory of the Volgograd region, 12 UAVs over the territory of the Kaluga region, nine UAVs over the territory of the Rostov region and two UAVs over the territory of Saratov region.
Rosaviatsia has announced temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft at the airports of seven Russian cities: Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Grozny, Kaluga, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk.
Volgograd region
A series of loud explosions were heard at night in the regional center. Locals claim that the air defense system allegedly shot down unidentified drones in the area of the local oil depot.
According to the Russians, the air defense system allegedly destroyed drones on approach to the local oil refinery in the Krasnoarmeyskiy district of the city. In addition, the sounds of explosions were heard in the Kirovskyi district of the city and in the village of Krasnoslobidsk.
Later, a video was posted on social media showing one of the powerful explosions in Volgograd. SHOT clarified that more than 15 explosions were heard over the city and had been going on for 45 minutes. The Russians also said that car alarms went off in the yards amid the explosions. At the same time, there is allegedly no damage so far. At the same time, the explosions are still going on. There was no official information on this matter.
Subsequently, Governor Andrey Bocharov reported a localized fire in the industrial zone, while in the south of Volgograd, debris fell on the roof of a residential building and damaged a parked car.
Tula region
At around 4am, local residents reported loud explosions in the sky over the region, saying they heard at least five explosions. According to them, the drones were flying at low altitude in the Sokilnyky district of Novomoskovsk.
Similar reports come from Engels (Saratov region) and Volgograd. The targets are being hit by air defense. There has been no official information so far.
Kaluga region
An industrial building in the Dzerzhynsk district caught fire as a result of a drone attack. The smoke from the fire was visible for several kilometers. According to preliminary information, it was a refinery in the Dzerzhinsk district, northeast of Kaluga.
Governor Vladislav Shapsha confirmed the information about the fire at the promotional facility.
Saratov region
Drones attacked Saratov and Engels. In the morning, the head of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, wrote about repelling a drone attack on the region.
Rostov region
At around 1am, drones attacked Rostov-on-Don. Residents of the Zakhidnyi neighborhood heard three to five explosions.
Also in the region, explosions were heard in the city of Bataysk, and Russian air defense activity was recorded in the Chertkovsky and Sholokhov districts of the Rostov region
In Rostov-on-Don, debris fell on a private house where no one was present at the time of the attack, said the acting governor of the region, Yuri Slyusar.
