A Russian serviceman of the 810th Marine Brigade confesses to shooting a Ukrainian prisoner of war who was seriously wounded in the leg.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Suspilne, which received the video from the SSU counterintelligence.
According to the occupier, the execution took place on 21 December 2024 in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
"They took two prisoners of war. He tied one to a tree and took him for evacuation. After that, he returned to the second AFU serviceman. The second serviceman was heavily wounded, with a piece of shrapnel in his leg from a quadcopter. After that, I contacted my commander of the 2nd platoon, 'Gyurza.' He ordered me to shoot the soldier with the shrapnel wound in his leg. After that, I shot the soldier. I admit my guilt and am ready to be punished according to the law," the Russian soldier said.
According to the investigation, at the time of the murder, the Ukrainian serviceman was lying in a helpless state: his hands tied behind his back, face down on the ground.
It is noted that the Russian serviceman from the 810th Brigade was captured by Ukrainian SOF in December 2024, a few days after the execution of the Ukrainian soldier.
The Department of Military Counterintelligence, together with the SSU Main Investigation Department, under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, are documenting a criminal offense under Article 438 of the Criminal Code (war crimes). A Russian serviceman is about to be charged with the murder of a Ukrainian prisoner of war.
Law enforcement officers are also trying to identify a Russian soldier from the 2nd Platoon, 5th Battalion, 810th Separate Marine Brigade with the call sign 'Hiurza,' who, according to the detained Russian, gave the order to kill the Ukrainian soldier.
As journalists discovered, the call sign 'Hiurza' is used by the commander of the Sixth Motorised Rifle Division of the Russian Federation, Marat Ospanov, who has been known to order the torture and murder of his subordinates.
The 810th Separate Guards Brigade of the Russian Marine Corps of the Order of Zhukov is stationed in the occupied Ukrainian city of Sevastopol. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the brigade has been fighting in Kherson region, and since August 2024 - in Kursk region.
"One of the important tasks facing Ukraine is to clearly record the crimes of the Russian Federation," the SSU Military Counterintelligence Department added to Suspilne.
