Last Battle of Hero of Ukraine Pavlo Sbytov, who refused to leave his comrades: "I am staying". VIDEO
The journalist Iryna Sampan presented the documentary The Academician at the reception, dedicated to the last battle of Hero of Ukraine Pavlo Sbytov and his extraordinary bravery.
On March 9, 2022, Russian forces, numbering up to 2,000 troops, launched an offensive on Zachativka, near Volnovakha. At that time, the area was defended only by soldiers of the 503rd Separate Marine Battalion and a company from the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. Despite being vastly outnumbered, the Ukrainian marines, led by Battalion Commander Pavlo Sbytov, stood their ground and engaged the enemy.
By March 11, the enemy had nearly encircled Yevhenivka, yet the marines held their positions. Commander Sbytov refused to abandon his men and stayed with them until the very end. His heroism is forever etched into the history of Ukraine’s resistance.
The film, published on the YouTube channel Butusov Plus, tells the story of the last battle of the commander, who was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
