Border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment detained six men who were trying to illegally cross the border with Romania.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), Censor.NET reports.
As noted, at a certain time, six residents of Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne and Chernivtsi regions headed towards the border with Romania, but were detained near the demarcation line. The detainees admitted that they had paid between 7 and 10 thousand euros each for the crossing.
The group was accompanied by a minor local resident who acted as a guide. He was also detained along with the other violators.
Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding over the incident under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transfer of persons across the state border). The data was registered in the URPTI (Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations).
The minor was handed over to his parents, and administrative reports were drawn up against the other detainees.
