Engineering troops eliminated nearly 700 occupiers in January thanks to mine barriers and drones – General Staff. VIDEO

During January, the engineering troops of the Ukrainian army significantly enhanced the effectiveness of defense, eliminating approximately 660 occupiers on mine and explosive barriers, more than one hundred pieces of equipment and dozens of other targets, primarily through remote mining using unmanned aerial vehicles.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The engineering troops of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and engineering units of other services and branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine effectively carried out combat tasks over the month," the statement reads.

In particular, on mine and explosive barriers installed by all engineering units of the Ukrainian military, approximately 660 occupiers, 110 units of weapons and military equipment, and 65 other targets were destroyed.

How the strikes were carried out

The strikes were carried out primarily through remote mining using unmanned aerial vehicles, ensuring high effectiveness and minimal risks for Ukrainian servicemembers.

Engineering troops prove every day that modern warfare is a war of technology. Remote mining units employing drones and ground robotic systems block the occupiers’ routes of advance and effectively strike their forces and assets.

Whereas previously combat engineers were forced to operate directly in hazardous areas, today risks are minimized — unmanned systems allow tasks to be performed faster, more precisely and significantly more safely.

Damage is recorded in real time

Every hit on enemy equipment and personnel is recorded in real time, and all confirmed targets are entered into the Delta situational awareness system, which ensures complete data reliability.

"The engineering troops continue to strengthen defensive capabilities, create new lines of engineering barriers and inflict losses on the enemy in coordination with all units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine," the statement reads.
