Ballistic missile with range of 850 km will appear as early as 2026 – Fire Point director. VIDEO
Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex is reaching a new level of strategic deterrence.
By mid-2026, Ukraine plans to complete development and prepare for the first launches of its own ballistic missile with a range of up to 850 kilometers.
This was stated by Denys Shtilerman, head and chief designer of Fire Point, in an interview with Dmytro Gordon, Censor.NET reports.
Deep enemy rear in the crosshairs
A range of 850 kilometers radically changes the rules of the game on the battlefield. Such a missile would be capable of striking strategic targets deep in the aggressor’s rear, including:
- key air bases for strategic aviation;
- logistics hubs and ammunition depots;
- decision-making centers and military factories.
According to the Fire Point director, the development is currently at the active implementation stage, and the work schedule makes it possible to expect the product to be ready for testing in a year and a half.
