Protesters outside the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in Kyiv's downtown have completely blocked vehicular traffic on Hrushevskyi Street.

The building of the parliament is surrounded by rally participants demanding the resignation of the government headed by Arsenii Yatseniuk, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

The majority of at least 2,000 protesters are pensioners and students. The picketing is underway without party flags.

The parliament is heavily guarded by police detachments.
