As part of the ‘One in a Thousand’ initiative, 1,000 STING interceptors have been provided free of charge to the Ukrainian military to combat kamikaze drones and other aerial targets.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the "Wild Hornets" team.

The initiative was implemented as part of the "One in a Thousand" project, dedicated to the crews who go out every day and night to hunt for Russian "Shaheds", "Gerbers" and other aerial targets.

"Day and night, the military go out hunting for Shaheds, Gerbers, and other enemy targets. Every night, they take responsibility for someone’s city, home, and life," the "Wild Hornets" noted.

The team emphasised that this is precisely why they decided to provide the military with the most effective tool for intercepting enemy drones free of charge.

"1,000 STINGs and dozens of Hornet Vision ground stations amount to 100,000,000 hryvnias, which we, the Wild Hornets, have allocated to strengthening Ukraine’s defences," the team reported.

The project’s creators emphasise that "One in a Thousand" is not just about the number of drones donated, but first and foremost about the people who carry out combat duties every day.

"It’s about the crews working in the cold, darkness, and exhaustion. About the operators who, after taking down one target, immediately fly off to the next. About those whose work most people will never see – but it is thanks to them that many Ukrainians wake up alive in the morning," Wild Hornets emphasised.

The team also promised to continue sharing the stories of military crews defending Ukrainian cities from air attacks.

"Behind every downed drone are real people. And the country needs to know about their work," they added.

STING interceptors: what is known?

STING interceptors are Ukrainian FPV interceptor drones from the Wild Hornets team, designed to destroy Russian "Shaheds", "Gerbers" and reconnaissance UAVs. They have become one of the best-known Ukrainian solutions in the field of anti-drone defence.

Key features of STING:

  • high speed and manoeuvrability for intercepting aerial targets;
  • launch without a catapult from any flat surface;
  • the ability to return the drone if the target is not found;
  • operation both during the day and at night;
  • integration with the Hornet Vision digital control system.
