Fuel from canisters sold for 1,000 rubles per liter in occupied Yalta. VIDEO

A video recorded by a driver on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula near Yalta has been shared on social media. The footage shows the vehicle owner, while driving along a dirt road on the approach to the city, stopping near several civilian cars where illegal retail fuel sales from canisters had been organized.

Censor.NET reports that during a conversation with the sellers, the driver recorded the prices of scarce petrol and diesel fuel.

According to the published recording of the conversation, the price of one liter of automotive fuel on Crimea’s black market varies significantly depending on the buyer. For local residents, petrol costs from 350 to 650 rubles, while for visitors and holidaymakers it reaches a record 1,000 rubles per liter (approximately UAH 560 at the current commercial exchange rate).

In the dialogue, the author of the video says he is recording what is happening as proof for acquaintances who do not believe the scale of the fuel shortage on the peninsula:

"I’m filming this just for myself, my friends don’t believe it. How much is it? I’m not filming you. Diesel, petrol in Yalta. Yes, okay, go ahead. They’re selling petrol here for 600, 650, 350, 400. And in Yalta they’re selling it to holidaymakers for 1,000 rubles. Holy cow."
