Russian propaganda outlets continue to spread false reports about the alleged ‘capture’ of Sviatohirsk in the Donetsk region and are attempting to back them up with staged footage.
This is reported by Censor.NET, citing a video address by Volodymyr Rybalkin, head of the Sviatohirsk Military-Civilian Administration, and the RMA.
The situation in the town is very complex
It is emphasised that, in reality, Svyatogorsk remains under Ukrainian control. The head of the Military-Civilian Administration, Volodymyr Rybalkin, is currently in the town itself and is describing the actual situation.
It is noted that the situation in the town is very difficult: the front line is nearby, and the Russians are relentlessly shelling Sviatohirsk , posing a constant threat to people and infrastructure.
Despite this, the town is holding out; the local authorities continue to work and ensure its functioning as far as the security situation allows.
The head of the Military-Civilian Administration said that Sviatohirsk is under constant attack by the Russians, as is the whole of Donetsk Oblast. The enemy is striking with KAB bombs, multiple launch rocket systems and tube artillery, and is also keeping our supply routes under its control.
The evacuation is ongoing
According to Rybalkin, two food shops are currently operating in the town. The local administration, police and utility services are also operating continuously within the community.
There are currently 1,087 people remaining in the town, and evacuation efforts are ongoing.
