In case of an explosion at ZNPP, residents of potential radiation accident zone should be prepared for possible evacuation.
It is informed by Censor.NЕТ referring to Ministry of Health of Ukraine Facebook page.
"If the authorities have officially reported a radiation accident, stay indoors or get to the premises as soon as possible. Watch for further messages and follow instructions from the authorities," the Health Ministry said.
In case you are instructed to evacuate, pack in a suitcase or backpack:
Documents and copies of documents (identity documents, medical documents, title documents certifying ownership of movable and immovable property, contacts of persons to be reached in case of emergency).
Face mask or respirator.
A first aid kit and a week's supply of medicines (if you have a chronic illness).
Wet wipes.
Spare change of clothes and shoes.
A minimum supply of water and food.
Tightly wrap your suitcase or backpack with cling film or tape. This will greatly facilitate the process of decontamination at sanitary stations.
WARNING. If you are in the area of a radiation accident, you should leave the building only after being instructed to do so by the authorities. Local authorities will inform you of the location of evacuation points, as well as the safest routes if you are evacuating by car.
Follow the instructions and remain calm.
