Merkel Supports Introduction of New Sanctions Against Russia

German Chancellor Angela Merkel advocates the imposition of a new package of sanctions against Russia.

She stated this on Wednesday delivering a speech before the German parliament, Censor.NET reports citing the Associated Press.

"We support the publication of sanctions and I hope the decision will be made soon. The sanctions will not come into force until published," she said.

According to the Chancellor, the situation in Ukraine has improved, but adherence to the peace plan conditions is still not obvious.
