Russia Does Not Fulfill Conditions to Avoid Sanctions - State Department
The recent introduction of new restrictive measures against Russia by the United States is due to the fact that Moscow has not complied with a number of conditions necessary for the de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine.
This was announced on Thursday by the U.S. State Department, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.
"Russia's illegal invasion (in Ukraine) was the cause of sanctions by the United States and the EU. (Russia) needs to do more: withdraw its troops, weapons, stop supporting the separatists," the State Department spokesman Jen Psaki wrote on Twitter in response to a question from a reader about the reasons for the introduction of new sanctions against Russia, despite the achievement of a ceasefire agreement in eastern Ukraine.
