Farmland sale moratorium extended by Poroshenko

President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law extending a moratorium on the sale of agricultural land until 2020

As of Feb. 4, the law is signed.

The moratorium was first introduced in 2001. Since 2002, it has acted as a temporary measure to ensure the regulatory settlement of land relations and the creation of land market infrastructure. The Verkhovna Rada has repeatedly prolonged it since.
