"We believe, as do Ukrainians, in the establishment of peace.
A peace that respects the principles of the UN Charter on territorial integrity and sovereignty, that ensures Ukraine's ability to defend its future, that ensures the restoration and rebuilding of Ukraine, and that brings Russia to justice for its attack on Ukraine and its war crimes," he said.
Price reminded that the President of Ukraine personally spoke about the readiness to negotiate on such principles.
According to him, if Russia wants such a dialogue, it must stop shelling and launching missiles, stop its attacks and killing of Ukrainian civilians and destruction of infrastructure.
"But of course, the Kremlin is doing the opposite - it continues to escalate this war instead of sending a signal that it is ready and open to negotiations," the State Department spokesman stressed.
Price also stressed that the United States, NATO and the European Union continue to adhere to the principle "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine".
