We count on leadership of Germany in transfer of "Patriot", "Leopard-2" tanks and "Marder" IFVs to Ukraine, - Kuleba
Ukraine is counting on Germany’s leadership in the transfer of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, Leopard-2 tanks and Marder infantry fighting vehicles, as there can be no taboos in the matter of helping Ukraine with weapons to protect all of Europe from the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said this at a briefing today, Censor.NET informs with reference to "Interfax-Ukraine".
"I thank Germany for the decision to strengthen our air defense and to hand over seven additional Gepard anti-aircraft guns. At the same time, Ukrainian diplomats continue to make efforts in negotiations with the German side regarding the transfer of Leopard-2 tanks and the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine," said Kuleba.
He noted that the German side has already demonstrated leadership in the supply of Iris-T air defense systems and other important weapons.
"We count on leadership in the transfer of Patriot, Leopard-2 tanks, and Marder IFVs. There can be no taboos in helping Ukraine with weapons to protect the whole of Europe from the armed aggression of the Russian Federation," the minister emphasized.
In addition, he once again called on all partners to strengthen military support for Ukraine.
"There is no need to look for excuses and postpone key decisions. It is time to close the sky over Ukraine - to do it with the help of air defense systems, which should come to Ukraine in sufficient numbers," said Kuleba.
