Having overcome Russian aggression, Ukraine will become a NATO member - Kuleba
Ukraine, after overcoming Russian aggression, will become a NATO member on fundamentally different terms than it was between 2008 and 2022.
This was stated at the Conference of Ukrainian Ambassadors by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, informs Censor.NЕТ referring to RBK-Ukraine.
"Frankly speaking, earlier we desperately needed to join NATO in order not to be attacked by Russia. Then Moscow intimidated the allies and we were denied in protection. But now the situation is radically different. With the significant support of the same allies, but now it is our army that beats the aggressor. Having overcome the Russian threat not only for ourselves but also for the Euro-Atlantic space, we will become a member of collective security on fundamentally different terms than it could have happened between 2008 and 2022," the Foreign Minister said.
The Minister stressed that Ukraine will no longer be "a poor relative", which was hidden under the wing of the fifth NATO article. According to him, Ukraine is already a strong military power that fundamentally changes the military balance in the region and acts as a security donor for NATO.
"And today, do not listen to those who talk about the impossibility of Ukraine's membership in NATO. We have already been through this. If we do our job well, tomorrow they will sing a hymn to Euro-Atlantic Ukraine," Kuleba noted.
