Ukraine expects to receive European Commission’s assessment on implementation of seven recommendations in spring, - Stefanishyna

Ukraine expects to receive the official assessment of the European Commission on the implementation of the seven recommendations in spring, which will pave the way for the next steps towards our country’s membership in the EU.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna in an interview during the national telethon, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukrinform.
She recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale war and especially since the end of June 2022, the Parliament has adopted more than 70 laws aimed at implementing the Association Agreement.
"Of course, we focused on political reforms, political transformations - on the so-called seven recommendations (of the European Commission - ed.). It was an extremely difficult process... For us, the implementation of these seven recommendations is primarily important, of course, for the transition to the next stage of accession to the EU. But both partners in the EU and NATO unanimously together with Ukraine assess the implementation of these seven political criteria as the final consolidation and strengthening of democracy in our country. This is a paradigm change in the perception of Ukraine. Therefore, of course, we direct all possible efforts to achieve a positive result," Stefanishyna said.
According to her, this year only technical issues remain to be fulfilled, in particular, the implementation of legislation, completion of all competitive procedures and selections.
"Therefore, we expect that international partners will nominate their experts to the competition commissions. We will complete the ongoing competitions in the judicial system and the anti-corruption branch of power and, accordingly, in the spring we will receive an official assessment of the European Commission, which will pave the way for the next steps," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
