United States expects support for allies’ initiative to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine

The United States expects that the allies’ initiative to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine will be supported within the country.
This was stated by the US Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter, Censor.NET reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
The diplomat, answering the question whether Joe Biden's administration supports the idea of giving Ukraine F-16, noted that the US responds positively to any assistance to Ukrainian troops. According to him, this applies to both Soviet equipment and modern means.
"We have long been of the opinion that what our allies supply is their business. And we support the countless contributions (to defense. - Ed.) that our allies have made for Ukraine," he said.
Carpenter expects that the United States will support the idea of allies to the transfer of fighter jets.
"Therefore, I expect that the United States will have broad support for our allies, who will continue to increase their contributions," the US ambassador emphasized.
Also remind, earlier it became known that the Netherlands is ready to consider the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, if a request comes from the Ukrainian authorities.
At the same time, during an address to the participants of "Ramstein" yesterday, Volodymyr Zelensky called on the partners to discuss the possibility of sending the F-16 at the next meeting.
