Poland currently has about 50 F-16 fighter jets and is waiting for F-35 and FA-50 fighters.

This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda during a joint press conference with Latvian President Egils Levits in Riga, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukrinform.

"We are ready to negotiate with our allies to support Ukraine (in the issue of providing F-16s - Ed.). We help Ukraine, but we also care about Poland's security," Duda said.

He said that Poland currently has about 50 F-16 fighters and is also waiting for F-35 fighters, which were signed several years ago. In addition, Warsaw is also waiting for FA-50 fighters from South Korea, the contract for which was signed last year.

Duda emphasized that Poland provides a lot of military assistance to Ukraine. According to him, Poland has supplied Ukraine with more than 240 T-72 tanks, more than 100 infantry fighting vehicles, thousands of automatic rifles, Piorun man-portable air defense systems, and Krab self-propelled artillery systems, which "in many places helped stop the Russian offensive."

Duda emphasized that Poland will now send a company of Leopard 2 tanks (14 units) to Ukraine, and Warsaw has also announced another batch of tank aid. He noted that Poland still has stocks of post-Soviet modernized T-72 tanks, as well as PT-91 Twardy tanks.
