Shmyhal - Dombrovskis: $17 billion is needed for reconstruction of Ukraine this year. Mechanism for transfer of Russian assets is needed
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.
Shmyhal announced this on Telegram channel, Censor.NET informs.
According to the Prime Minister, he thanked the European Union for its strong support. In particular, for the program of macro-financial assistance for 18 billion euros, of which 3 billion euros are already in Ukraine.
"It is important that financial resources arrive predictably and rhythmically. For this, we created the platform of the "financial Ramstein", he clarified.
Shmyhal and Dombrovskis also discussed the issue of rapid reconstruction of Ukraine.
"This year, 17 billion dollars will be needed for these needs. One of the key sources of financing is Russian assets. A real mechanism should be created to direct them to compensate for the losses caused by the war," he added.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister also emphasized the priority of Ukraine's integration into the EU internal market. In particular, it is important to preserve the duty-free import of our goods to the European Union until the end of 2024. Valdis Dombrovskis emphasized that the European Union will continue its comprehensive support to Ukraine. I am grateful to him and the European community for this position.
