Czech President-elect Petr Pavel intends to visit all neighboring countries in his first hundred days in office, and will also travel to Brussels.

Pavel said on Saturday that he wants to travel to Ukraine, which is facing Russian aggression, in April. He will take office as head of state at the inauguration on March 9, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to European truth.

By traveling abroad, Pavel wants to show that the Czech Republic is returning to an active approach to foreign policy at the presidential level. "I don't think I need to go anywhere else during this period, because I really consider our neighborhood a priority," he said.

Pavel's first trip immediately after the inauguration will traditionally be to Slovakia. Then he will go to Poland, and on March 21-22, to Germany. In April, Pavel plans to visit the headquarters of the European Union and NATO in Brussels. In the same month, he wants to go to Ukraine.

Pavel expressed interest in visiting Ukraine shortly after he was elected the new president of the Czech Republic. At the time, he said he would like to visit Kyiv together with Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová.

In late January, Pavel received an invitation to visit the country from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who thanked Pavel for his support in a telephone conversation. Paweł approached the Ukrainian side with a proposal for a visit in February.

This week, Pavel called for a rapid delivery of weapons to Ukraine. He also believes that the allies will not deliberately reduce their support for Ukraine as the prospect of Crimea's return approaches, fearing a radical escalation by the Kremlin.
