Estonian security police have detained three people on suspicion of creating connections against the state.

This was reported in the press service of the department, Censor.NET informs with reference to "Gordon".

Among those detained are an Estonian citizen and a Russian with a residence permit, whose names have not been disclosed. And also the leader of the Koos ("Together") movement Ivo Peterson. The politician is not a member of the Estonian parliament, as he did not receive enough votes in the last election.

Since the beginning of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Peterson has repeatedly made pro-Russian statements. The politician spoke "about the enormous power of the Russian army", the need to have good relations with the neighbor and that the West should not help Ukraine.

In addition, Peterson visited the regions of Ukraine occupied by Russia. In particular, he went to temporarily occupied Mariupol this year. He told reporters that his travel expenses were covered by an organization operating in Russia. Regarding the visit to Mariupol, he noted that the city is occupied "according to Ukraine", and the Russian Federation believes that it has the "overriding right".

"I still stand for peace. I try not to affect either of them. If you watched my appeals, you know very well what I think," Peterson answered when asked what he personally thinks about Mariupol.
