On March 12, the President of Ukraine awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" to Ukrainian soldier Oleksandr Matsiyevsky, who was shot by Russians.

According to Censor.NЕТ, this is stated in Twitter of Ukrainian President.

The message reads: "I awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Oleksandr Matsiyevsky. A Ukrainian warrior. A man who will be known and remembered forever. For bravery, for confidence in Ukraine and for his "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Hero! Glory to the Heroes! Glory to Ukraine!"

As it is known, on March 6, a video was posted online showing the Russian occupiers shooting a captured Ukrainian soldier for saying "Glory to Ukraine". The footage received a wide public response.
