Aggressor cannot capture Bakhmut and tries to surround Avdiivka, - Maliar
The situation in the east of Ukraine in the areas of the defense operation remains quite difficult.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the statement of Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar.
"The aggressor conducts the main offensive actions simultaneously in four directions, namely: Lyman, Bakhmut, Mariinka and Avdiivka. It is mostly unsuccessful," she noted.
As Maliar pointed out, the enemy is concentrating its greatest efforts on establishing control over Bakhmut, trying to advance to the central part of the city, and in some areas having minor variable successes. But he cannot capture the city. Fierce fighting continues all around and in the city itself.
Also, the enemy is conducting offensive operations in the Avdiivka area with the aim of encircling the city and blocking supply routes. In addition, fighting continues in Bilohorivka and Mariinka.
