"Russia will take over the presidency of the Security Council under the terms of rotation in April," the message reads.
The UN Security Council consists of 10 rotating and 5 permanent member states, including Russia, Great Britain, France, the United States and China, who have veto power.
The UN Security Council is responsible for maintaining international peace and security. The presidency of the UN Security Council goes to a different member state every month.
