Specialists on sanctions and terrorist financing of the US Treasury Department plan to visit several countries whose companies still do business with Russia during April. The goal is to convince them to stop financial ties with the Russian Federation due to its continuation of the war against Ukraine.

The Associated Press writes about this with reference to sources, Censor.NET reports.

Ministry of Finance officials Liz Rosenberg and Brian Nelson, specialists in sanctions and terrorist financing, will go to Europe. They will meet with the heads of financial institutions in Switzerland, Italy, and Germany.

The delegation should convey to businessmen that they have to make a choice: either to continue working with the Russian government or to do business with countries that represent 50% of the world economy.

Rosenberg will also visit Kazakhstan to urge the country's private businesses not to provide material or other support to the Kremlin.

So far, the United States and its allies have imposed direct sanctions against more than 2,500 Russian companies, government officials, oligarchs, and their families. Sanctions block their access to American bank accounts and financial markets, do not allow them to do business with Americans, travel to the United States, etc.
