Deputy Minister of Justice Valeriia Kolomiets noted that those involved in execution of Ukrainian soldiers may face Ukrainian justice, and such cases may also be considered by International Criminal Court.

She said this on the air of the United News telethon, informs Censor.NЕТ referring to Ukrinform.

"I would like to say that, unfortunately, this is not the first such act of aggression and inhumanity that we have seen from the Russian army. The second point is that the people who committed this, if you can call it that, they have to and can be brought before the Ukrainian judiciary... Yes, indeed, they committed a war crime, according to the Rome Statute. Therefore, similar cases, and we understand that this is already an administrative practice, not just a single horrific case, should be considered by the International Criminal Court," Kolomiets said, answering the question whether it will be possible to bring to justice the torturers involved in the execution of Ukrainian soldiers.

She noted that the Russian army commits similar crimes against both Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians.

"And this, in fact, means that every day they violate any rules of warfare, no matter how horrible it may sound that such rules exist at all," the Deputy Minister of Justice emphasized.

Kolomiets also noted that crimes of torture have no statute of limitations.

"Even the Criminal Code of Ukraine has an article that regulates issues related to torture, primarily torture, so there is no statute of limitations," Kolomiets said.
