Zelenskyy: Ukraine needs security guarantees before joining NATO

Ukraine needs effective security guarantees even before joining NATO.
As informs Censor.NЕТ, this was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Saturday video address.
"Russia must get out of the Ukrainian territory. All of Ukraine and all occupants. And every clause of the UN Charter must work again - none of Russia's violations of international law can be ignored. It is on these principles that security and peace will return to international relations," the President said.
He noted that "this is exactly why we have the Ukrainian formula for peace, which is absolutely realistic and quite specific, and we have also discussed it in detail with Macron today, as well as the international events we are preparing for this year, in particular, the NATO Summit in Vilnius."
"Our common position at the summit in Lithuania - of all the participating states - can be exactly as ambitious as European security requires. I am sure of it. Effective security guarantees for Ukraine, that is, in fact, for the international rules-based order, are needed even before joining the Alliance," Zelenskyy said.
He noted that "a meeting of the member states of the joint investigation team to conduct investigations into the crimes of the occupiers in Ukraine took place in Vilnius. One of the results of the meeting is an agreement - it was signed just yesterday. An agreement on joint investigation of not only Russian war crimes, but also the crime of genocide."
"We will ensure full responsibility of Russia for what it has done against Ukraine and Ukrainians at all levels, including the legal level. And I thank all the partners who help bring the sentences for the occupiers - for Russian murderers and terrorists - closer," he said.
