It would be expedient for the Czech Republic to consider the possibility of transferring L-159 aircraft to the Armed Forces, because Ukraine needs to prepare its Air Force for the decisive phase of the war.

This was stated by the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, Censor.NET informs with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

Western countries have so far refrained from providing modern fighter jets because preparation for their use takes a long time and because the planes contain secret systems.

"But I know that the negotiations continue, and let's be surprised if as a result Ukraine receives several F-16s, perhaps with a dismantled part of this equipment," the president said.

Pavlo also suggested the possibility of the Czech Republic supplying L-159 aircraft.

"It is worth thinking about whether we could provide Ukraine with our L-159 aircraft with a certain type and prospect of rearmament, because even they, as direct air support aircraft, could significantly help Ukraine in a counteroffensive," the Czech president added.

Aero L-159 ALCA is a Czech training and combat training aircraft (light multi-purpose attack aircraft). The aircraft is based on the L-59 and is a further development of the L-39 Albatros.

The L-159 ALCA (Advanced Light Combat Aircraft) was developed by the Czech firm Aero Vodochody. From open sources it becomes known that the Czech Republic has more than 20 such aircraft in the Air Force.
