President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will personally attend the summit of the G7 countries in Hiroshima.

Initially, this was reported by Bloomberg with reference to sources, Censor.NET informs.

According to him, Zelensky will first visit Saudi Arabia to take part in the summit of the Arab League countries. And after that, he will arrive in Japan on an American military plane.

Later, information about the visit was confirmed by the Secretary of the National Security Council, Oleksii Danilov, Radio Svoboda reports.

"Very important things will be taken there, and therefore the presence of our president is absolutely important to defend our interests," he said.

Earlier, Japanese officials reported that Zelensky will take part in the summit virtually. They even added a special session dedicated to Ukraine to the Sunday schedule to accommodate the Ukrainian president's schedule.

Bloomberg notes that Zelensky's visit to Hiroshima, which suffered a US nuclear attack 78 years ago, is a symbolic message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who from time to time threatens to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine.

During the summit, the leaders of the G7 will discuss further responses to Russian aggression against Ukraine. They plan to announce new sanctions against Russia.

As previously reported by Censor.NET, the summit of the leaders of the Big Seven will start on May 19 in the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
