Poland buys Hellfire missiles from USA
Poland has signed a contract with the US for the supply of Hellfire guided anti-tank missiles. Earlier, the American Congress had already given its consent to this.
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced the signing of the agreement on Twitter, Censor.NET informs.
"Today we signed a contract for the supply of Hellfire missiles. They will be used to arm the AW149 support helicopters and eventually the AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters," he wrote.
AGM-114 Hellfire is an American air-to-ground guided anti-tank missile that is launched from a closed position without direct visual contact with the target. Directed at the target by a laser beam or other systems. Used from helicopters (AH-64 Apache), airplanes, unmanned aerial vehicles (Northrop Grumman MQ-8), ground vehicles (HMMWV).
