The Vice Prime Minister of Hungary, Zholt Shemien, confirmed the information that the Russian Federation handed over 11 Ukrainian prisoners of war, ethnic Hungarians, to Hungary.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"The transfer of prisoners of war was in no way coordinated with Ukraine, its expediency is explained by the "Subcarpathian origin" of the military. It is important to understand that all these soldiers are citizens of Ukraine, so their transfer to some third country without the consent and direct participation of Ukraine is impossible," writes ATV.

At the same time, Shemien refused to reveal the details, referring to the "interests of the case and the people".

However, Shemien later told ATV that "all this is a gesture of the Russian Orthodox Church towards Hungary, to which these people owe their freedom."

"This is my human and patriotic duty," he said.

It will be reminded, earlier the Russian Orthodox Church announced the transfer of Ukrainian prisoners of war to Hungary.
