In Mykolaiv region, 31 settlements were flooded, two people died, - RMA
As a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP in the Mykolaiv region, 31 settlements were flooded.
This was announced by the head of the Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim during the briefing, Censor.NET informs.
"In the Mykolayiv region, two people - a man and a woman - died after the terrorist attack at the Kakhovka HPP. Also, 31 settlements were flooded, 20 of them in Bashtanka, 11 - in Mykolaiv districts," said Kim.
Flooding of 540 households was recorded. The situation is particularly difficult in settlements located on the banks of the Ingulets River, which is a tributary of the Dnipro.
"But the water is gradually receding. In Mykolaiv, its level has dropped by 58 cm. It is worse on the Inhulets River, where the water has fallen by 1.55 meters from its peak, but the level will rise above 4 meters. The settlement of Afanasiivka has now turned into an island, there is no connection by land, only by boats," said the head of the RMA.
Kim noted that according to forecasts, the water will recede for a week.
