Deputies of the European Parliament strongly condemned the blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP dam and called these actions a Russian war crime that will have consequences.

As Censor.NET informs, with reference to Ukrinform, this is stated in the message of the European Parliament following the results of the plenary session in Strasbourg, during which European politicians considered the process of preparation for the next meeting of the European Council, which should take place at the end of June in Brussels.

"The MPs condemned the destruction of the dam in Ukraine's Nova Kakhovka, the latest war crime committed by Russia, which must have consequences. They called on the EU to continue strong support for Ukraine, to introduce new sanctions against Russia, and to direct billions of frozen financial assets of Russian oligarchs to the reconstruction of Ukraine," - says the messages

As noted, another key expectation of the members of the European Parliament from the upcoming meeting of EU heads of state and government is to agree on a common position on the updated EU Migration Pact, which should promote better treatment of refugees and strengthen the external borders of the European Union. Other topics to be discussed during the EU summit include the "green" and digital transformation of the European economy, the adoption of amendments to the multi-year EU budget and the need to reform Europe's industrial potential.
