Zelensky invites Trump and DeSantis to Ukraine - NBC

Slow deliveries of Western weapons are helping Russia’s defense efforts.

As informs Censor.NЕТ, with reference to Іnterfax-Ukraine, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with NBC.

He also responded to former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the Republican presidential candidates who have questioned the ongoing American military support for Kyiv.

Zelensky invited them to come to Ukraine, warning that his country's defeat would only mean a wider conflict with Moscow later.

Zelensky, according to NBC, acknowledged that U.S. policymakers considering cutting military aid to Ukraine is "a big risk for Ukraine," but said he believes it will not happen.

Ukraine's President said that if Russia defeats Ukraine, it could move on to a neighboring country that is a NATO ally, risking a wider world war because of the alliance's mutual defense clause. "Are they willing to go to war to send their children? Are they ready to die?" he said when asked about Trump and DeSantis.

Speaking about arms supplies, Zelensky said that due to the lack of delivery of F-16 fighter jets, Ukraine is "losing time, losing people and, most importantly, losing the advantage."

"Ukraine wants to be able to compete in the air - let's do it today," Zelenskiy said. A drip-feed of F-16s and other weapons "means that the war will last longer," he added.

He also questioned Trump's claim that he could end the war in 24 hours. "Why didn't he do it earlier? He was president when the war was going on here," Zelensky said.

"I think he could not have done it. I think there are no people in the world today who could just talk to Putin and end the war," he added.
