Enemy is trying to capture Mariinka and Avdiivka, now there are the fiercest battles, - Shershen
The Avdiivka direction is the "hottest", where the most intense battles take place.
Valerii Shershen, the Spokesman of the United Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria region, told about this during the telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to Ukrinform.
"A very hot direction, if we talk about defense, is Avdiivka. There, the enemy continues assault operations with the task of capturing Mariinka and capturing Avdiivka. The assault was repulsed, no losses of positions were allowed.
15 assaults took place in the Mariinka district. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 10 kamikaze drone strikes, mostly using quadro-type UAVs. He made the most of his efforts in the Avdiivka. In addition, here during one of the attacks, the enemy used an aircraft to support it. 10 surrounding settlements were shelled," Shershen said.
In the Melitopol direction, the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian shock units. Here, in one of the defense lanes, the enemy received reinforcements in the form of a 2S7 "Pion" artillery battery. In the Berdyansk direction, the Russians are trying to hold the lines and are carrying out certain counterattacks.
"Heavy battles are going on, our strike units have a certain advance, are entrenched at what they have achieved, carry out demining, aerial reconnaissance of the area continues, and inflict artillery fire on identified enemy targets," the spokesman added.
At the same time, he noted that it is not yet time to announce how many meters or kilometers Ukraine has won back. Such information will be made public when appropriate.
