According to Kirill Budanov, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, the Russian Federation is on the brink of a civil war.

Budanov said this in an interview with The Times, Censor.NET reports.

Budanov spoke about the secret data of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs intercepted by Ukrainian intelligence, which reflect the mood of the Russian population during the recent mutiny of the so-called "Wagner" PMC. Budanov said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the aggressor state uses spy software of a new generation, which allows monitoring of individual allegedly protected messengers, as well as trends in social networks and regional mass media.

According to the secret data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which were analyzed by Ukrainian intelligence, during the rebellion on June 24 and 25, the owner of PMC "Wagner" Evgeniy Prigozhin had the support of the population in 17 of the 46 regions of the Russian Federation, and the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - in 21. In particular, the latter could count on loyalty Moscow, but not St. Petersburg, and the lowest support for Putin was recorded in Dagestan.

"This is what we see at the moment: Russian society is torn in two. The situation indicates exactly what our service was talking about: the Russian Federation is on the verge of civil war. A small internal "issue" is needed, and the internal conflict will intensify," Budanov emphasized.

He added that Russians support the war when it is shown on TV. "But as soon as one of them receives a summons for conscription, they start looking for reasons not to go there. Going to war is not an option for them," he said.
