President Volodymyr Zelensky warned against a split in the North Atlantic Alliance due to the lack of a decision on Sweden’s membership and Ukraine’s membership.

Zelensky said this at a press conference in Bratislava with the President of Slovakia Zuzana Chaputova, Censor.NET reports with reference to "European Pravda".

Commenting on Ukraine's expectations from the NATO summit in Vilnius, the president said that he hopes to reveal the unity of the Alliance, because "in unity lies the strength of NATO, this strength extends to the confidence of societies, to all allies of the Alliance."

"And, I believe, the fact that the issue regarding Sweden and Ukraine's signal regarding the invitation has not yet been resolved - I believe that there is little unity in this, and it is a threat to the strength of the Alliance. And that is why we expect positive results or at least some steps to approach this positive. This is very important for the security of the whole world," he commented.

The head of state added that the unity of NATO also affects the situation "with the aggressor - with the Russian Federation."

"Because Russia is very much counting on the world to show weakness and disunity in the Alliance. And this cannot be allowed," Zelensky emphasized.
