Erdogan announces meeting with Putin in August

After President Zelenskyy’s visit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey faced a new challenge in form of war in Ukraine, but did not allow itself to be drawn into conflict.
This was stated by Erdogan, speaking on Saturday in the province of Bayburt, informs Censor.NЕТ referring to ZN.UA.
"During the pandemic, our enterprises were idle for months. Production in many areas fell sharply. The situation in developed countries was even worse. As a result, we were able to overcome the coronavirus crisis, but faced a new challenge - the war between our neighbors in the Black Sea region," the president said.
Erdogan reminded that the day before he had held talks in Istanbul with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for August.
"The war in Ukraine has been going on for a year and a half. We want to minimize its negative impact on our country. However, the fact is that any processes near Turkey affect the Turkish economy," Erdogan emphasized.
