German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius responded to Volodymyr Zelensky’s criticism of the leaders’ hesitation to give Ukraine an accurate answer about its membership in the Alliance during the NATO summit.

Tagesshau writes about it, Censor.NET reports.

"Everyone says that Ukraine's future lies in NATO as soon as the war is over. The conditions created for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance are absolutely normal. In particular, the compatibility of weapons systems with NATO standards," he stressed.

According to the German Minister of Defence, "system compatibility" means that Ukrainian weapons systems can be used together with those of other NATO countries, issues of governance and democratic control over the armed forces

"All of these are normal standards for all NATO member states. All of this is not rocket science and can happen very quickly. And I understand the resentment and impatience. Especially in the situation that Ukraine is in, I fully sympathize with it," Pistorius said.
