Albania handed Ukraine 22 American-made MaxxPro armored vehicles, as well as 82-caliber mines
For the first time, Albania transferred modern armored vehicles to Ukraine, as well as 82-mm mines.

Armored vehicles of the MRAP class (with mine protection) became one of the first examples of military aid for Ukraine from a Balkan country. MaxxPro, according to Oryx, were delivered by July 2023.
Previously, Albania was not known for providing significant military aid to Ukraine. In 2022, the country handed over cartridges for small arms, as well as 60-mm and 82-mm caliber mines to the Armed Forces. Later, in March 2023, Albania sent two ambulances.
MaxxPro armored vehicles were previously transferred to Ukraine from partners - in particular, from the USA. The number of transferred machines reaches 500, according to data from open sources.
The MaxxPro is an American Mine and Ambush Protected Wheeled Armored Personnel Carrier (MRAP). Developed by Navistar Defense together with the Israeli Plasan Sasa. It has been produced since 2007.
This armored car was widely used during the war in Afghanistan. It is currently operated by the USA, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Greece and other NATO countries.
