Hamas and Russia are same evil, terror cannot be given chance, - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy compared the tactics of Hamas in Israel and the Russian invaders in Ukraine and called for the fight against terrorism.

The head of state said this in an address to the meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen, Censor.NET reports with reference to the EP.

The president noted that Hamas and Russia use the same tactics and that Israeli journalists who have been in Ukraine and witnessed the consequences of Russian atrocities are now seeing the same thing happening in their own country.

"The same evil and the only difference is that this is a terrorist organization that attacked Israel, and here it is a terrorist state that attacked Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He also linked Iran to the invasion of Ukraine and the attack on Israel. According to Zelenskyy, Iran "cannot say that it has nothing to do with what is happening in Ukraine" if it sells "Shahed" UAVs to Russia, and that it cannot claim that it "has nothing to do with what is happening in Israel" if its officials declare support for Hamas.

"How far can such evil go? No further than we allow it. Our unity must and can stop evil. Our desire for peace, not their desire for blood, should determine how the world lives. Our rules, which are based on international law, and not their attempts to make death a rule," Zelenskyy said.

Alluding to the situation in the United States, Zelenskyy said that "now is not the time to go from the international arena to internal disputes. This is not the time to isolate ourselves. This is not the time to be silent or pretend that terror on one continent does not affect global affairs."

"Europe must be active. The US must be active. China, India, and the Arab states must feel how much can fall apart if they allow terrorists to achieve their goals.

Turkey, Brazil, and the whole of Latin America, Japan, Australia, Canada, African states, Central Asian states, Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, the Caribbean, Pacific states - everyone should be active in protecting life and international law. We must not give terror a chance," he concluded.
