The Kyiv Court of Appeal rejected the appeal for the arrest of People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrych, who is suspected of high treason.

Thus, the judges upheld the decision of the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv, which sent People's Deputy Nestor Shufrych to the pre-trial detention center until November 15.
As reported, on 15 September, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv imposed a pre-trial restraint on Shufrych in the form of detention for 60 days without bail. The deputy is suspected of treason. He was taken into custody directly in the courtroom.
Nestor Shufrych is a People's Deputy of several convocations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (starting with the third), in particular, from the political forces "Party of Regions" (2012) and "Opposition Bloc" (2014). On January 16, 2014, he voted for dictatorial laws.
In 2019, he was elected a People's Deputy of the ninth convocation of the Verkhovna Rada from the currently banned party "Opposition Platform - For Life (OPZZH)" under number 7 on the list as a member of the party. He was a member of the faction of the same name (before its official liquidation in the parliament, after which he joined the deputy group "Platform for Life and Peace", which consists of members of the former "OPZH").
