73% Ukrainians are against enemy’s territorial concessions - survey. INFOGRAPHICS

Almost half of the Ukrainians surveyed are convinced that Russia can wage war for many years to come because of its considerable reserves of resources.

This is stated in a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), Censor.NET reports.

In Ukraine, compared to February this year, the number of those who believe that Russia retains a significant reserve of resources and can wage war against Ukraine for many years to come has increased from 22% to 49%.

At the same time, the share of those who believe that Russia is exhausting its resources and that the war may end on terms acceptable to Ukraine in the foreseeable future has decreased from 67% to 43%.

As the survey results show, either of the two answers is related to the readiness or unwillingness of Ukrainians to make territorial concessions.

Among those who believe in Russia's military might, 21% support giving up some territory in exchange for peace.

At the same time, even among those who believe that Russia has significant resources for a prolonged war, 73% oppose any territorial compromises.

"The significant growth of faith in Russia's 'unlimited' resources is also a dangerous trend. The population of the south and east of Ukraine looks particularly vulnerable, with worse indicators (which are obviously a consequence of proximity to the front line). At the same time, at least at this stage, the level of correlation between the responses to the four narratives is rather low and the level of their crystallization into a single pessimistic "worldview" is low. In addition, the level of transformation of pessimism into readiness for territorial concessions, although there is a level of transformation, is also not so significant," commented Anton Grushetsky, Executive Director of KIIS.
