Without allies’ help, Ukraine’s budget will have $29bn hole - Marchenko

Ukraine may face an economic crisis next year if its allies do not provide financial assistance.
According to Censor.NET, citing Politico, this was stated by Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko.
According to him, without further support from the allies, a "hole" of about $29 billion may appear in Ukraine's budget.
"Maintaining macroeconomic stability is very important because, in addition to the war, we are facing an economic crisis. If Ukraine is in crisis, it will have side effects in the EU," the Finance Minister explained.
Marchenko noted that Ukraine is open to further reforms, including strengthening anti-corruption bodies.
"We are ready for discussion, but we are not ready for the fact that this may cause a delay in providing support to Ukraine. We need the money from the beginning of next year," the minister said.
He also explained that a delay in funding for Ukraine would also cause problems for the EU.
"The consequences of the economic crisis will be very, very traumatic not only for Ukraine but for the whole of Europe. ... Because of migration, because of the side effect, because of the huge increase in prices across Europe, especially for some food products, and possibly again for oil and gas," Marchenko added.
